Holy Saturday

Holy Saturday

Join us for our Holy Saturday service!

Here’s what you can expect:

  • There will be nursery service (infant-3 years) but no preschool or elementary classes.

  • This is a solemn night, commemorating the time Jesus spent in the tomb. We mourn his death, as his disciples might have. We will have scripture reading and music throughout the night as candles slowly get extinguished, leaving only one candle: The Christ Candle. We leave in silence, allowing those who would like to pray to stay in the quiet sanctuary.

Palm Saturday Service

5:30 PM17:30

Palm Saturday Service

Join us for our Palm Saturday service!

Here’s what you can expect:

  • We’ll start in the parking lot and process into the church with our palm branches.

  • The nursery will be open directly after the procession.

  • Service will continue as normal: We start with our call to worship, then have the scripture readings for the day read out loud, intermixed with music. The sermon is based on one or more of the scripture readings. After the sermon, parents pick up their children from the nursery before confession and the Eucharistic prayer. We take communion every week by intinction (dipping the bread into the cup). Please come forward with your hands cupped, ready to receive the bread, and request gluten free if needed. If you are not comfortable taking communion for whatever reason, you are more than welcome to come forward with your arms crossed over your chest to receive a blessing. After communion, we recite the collect of the week together, have a few announcements, and receive a closing benediction.
