Love and Resurrection

February 23, 2019

Psalm 37Genesis 45:3-15I Corinthians 15:35-50Luke 6:27-38

Resurrection, at least in the Christian way of thinking, means to be raised to life that is imperishable. Lazarus was raised from the dead only to die again. However, after the resurrection of Christ, those who die will be able to follow Christ in his resurrection. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead and returned him to his previous way of living. Those who follow in Christ’s resurrection, as Lazarus will, are raised eternally.

What will human bodies at the resurrection look like? This is a good question and one for us to explore this Saturday.

O God, the strength of all who put their trust in you: Mercifully accept our prayers; and because in our weakness we can do nothing good without you, give us the help of your grace, that in keeping your commandments we may please you both in will and deed; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
