Remember, Christmas is not just a day; it is a season!

Christmas is not over! Celebrating the incarnation of Jesus the Christ has just begun. We will need all of 2017 to make sense of it; even then, we’ll be left shrugging our shoulders at the wonder of it all.

There are usually only four readings for each week. There is a psalm, an Old Testament reading, a New Testament reading (typically an epistle), and a Gospel reading. This week I’ve included seven. Each passage speaks to the miracle of Christ coming in the flesh, God with us.

Almighty God, you have poured upon us the new light of your incarnate Word: Grant that this light, enkindled in our hearts, may shine forth in our lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
